Learning Support Services

Starting Week 2 of every new quarter, students have four ways to access tutoring:

Tutoring with Faculty

All students have access to tutoring with faculty for most of the topics offered here at school.

The topics offered can be found on the list of Learning Support Services.

Learning Support Center (LSC)

In the school’s library, there’s a small room on the left called The Learning Support Center.

From 12-1pm Monday through Friday, we have students who can help you in English, Math, or Computer Applications.

Since these student tutors have been here for a while, you can ask them if they are able to tutor you in any other topics you might need help in.

Workshops/Open Studios

Workshops and open studios are time slots dedicated to give you time to work on a project with a tutor present.

Workshops are agenda-driven and the student tutor running the workshop will have an itinerary to follow.

Open Studios are specified times and places where you can work on your assignments when a tutor will be nearby for pointers.

Every quarter, we have the Life Drawing Workshop with a model present.  Here, students can brush up on their life drawing skills.  The tutor in the room guides students through the tougher features to draw.

Also, for students who have Maya and/or Photoshop projects, we have the Maya/Photoshop Open Studio where students can bring their assignements and work on them while a tutor is present.

Besides these two options, we have other workshops and open studios available which change each quarter based on tutor availability.  Keep checking the fliers on campus or here on the Website of Academic Achievement for more details.

In-class Tutoring

On occasion, the faculty and the academic directors may determine that a certain class should have a tutor available to help students during and after class.

These student tutors are considered “In-class Tutors.” They can help students during the class session. Most of them are scheduled to attend weekly.
